A new independent home video and DVD label is being launched in the UK by 3DD Entertainment, Lorber Media and Red Productions.

Called inD, its initial releases are scheduled for Spring 2004. It aims to release new and classic films, TV drama, documentaries and music specials.

The first releases will include the American Film Theatre collection featuring 14 films by directors such as John Frankenheimer, Tony Richardson, Joseph Losey, Harold Pinter, Arthur Hiller and Lindsay Anderson and starring actors such as Lee Marvin, Jeff Bridges, Katherine Hepburn and Paul Schofield.

inD has also signed an exclusive distribution deal with Fremantle Home Entertainment, who will be responsible for all marketing, sales and distribution activities for the label.

Acting as the label's managing director, Dominic Saville said, "We are creating a new exciting home for the DVD rights owned by UK and foreign producers. Our approach will be to establish ongoing long term relationships with top producers in the UK and rest of world."

inD's board members include Dominic Saville (3DD), Richard Lorber (Lorber Media), and Andrew Critchley (Red Production Company). The new operation will see 3DD and British based Red, whose previous TV drama hits include Queer as Folk, Linda Green and Clocking off, focus on sourcing product from the UK market, whilst Lorber Media will concentrate on US and worldwide acquisitions coordinated with buys for his new North American DVD label Koch Lorber Films.

"DVD is breathing new collectable life into quality film and TV product, so the timing couldn't be better for our entry into the UK market with the resources and partners we've assembled", added Richard Lorber.

Both Dominic Saville and Richard Lorber will be attending the American Film Market next month to source new product for inD. Lorber will also be attending Rotterdam and the Berlin Film Festival in the same capacity.
