Avi Lerner's MillenniumFilms has signed a five-picture production deal with veteran producer StevenHaft, whose credits include Dead Poets' Society, Tigerland and Emma.

The non-exclusive agreementprovides his Haft Entertainment with funds to attach talent and producepictures with foreign distribution through Millennium's Nu Image. Titles areexpected to be in the $15m-$45m range.

"We are committed to makingmajor films with major talent. ThatC;s what Steven does very well," Lerner saidin a statement.

"Millennium has recentlybeen elevating its talent level with actors like Morgan Freeman, Josh Hartnett,Scarlett Johansson, Danny DeVito, Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey and numerousfirst-class filmmakers."

"Millennium may be the mostprolific 'true independent' film producer in the motion picture businesstoday," Haft added. "Unlike many, they fully finance, fully risk and fullyexploit across the world markets."

He continued: "As studiosincreasingly change their focus from production to distribution, Millennium isthe right place at the right time."

Millennium is currently inpost-production on the thriller Edison starring Justin Timberlake, Morgan Freeman and LL Cool J, and romanticcomedy Mozart & The Whale,which stars Josh Hartnett and Radha Mitchell.
