James Mangold's Western remake 3:10 To Yuma opened top through
Lionsgate at the weekend on an estimated $14.1m.

The film stars Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Ben Foster and
centres on a rancher who has to escort an outlaw on to a prison train
despite being pursued by the man's murderous gang. Relativity Media's
Ryan Kavanaugh served as executive producer.

The first weekend of the post-summer season fared 22.5% better than
2006, as the top 12 films combined for $66.1m.

Halloween fell to second place on $10m for $44.2m after two weekends
on release, while Sony's comedy Superbad ranks third and crossed $10m
in the fourth weekend after adding $8m for $103.7m.

New Line's action romp Shoot 'Em Up opened in sixth place on a
disappointing $5.5m. Stablemate Hairspray returned to the top 10 as
$1.9m raised the tally to $114.9m.
