After Dark has signed a deal with Gaumont International to screen Sean Ellis' The Broken in its upcoming Horrorfest: 8 Films To Die For.

The psychological thriller premiered at Sundance earlier in the year and stars Lena Headey, Richard Jenkins, Asier Newman and Melvil Poupaud. Lene Bausager of Left Turn Films produced and Franck Chorot served as executive producer.

The Broken centres on a successful radiologist whose life spirals out of control when she sees the spitting image of herself driving down a London street.

'When I saw The Broken, I knew that horror fans would be riveted by its non-stop suspense,' After Dark's Courtney Solomon said. 'Sean's a master storyteller and it's no surprise that it is well-crafted, visually stunning and exists on an intellectual plane that true fans of the horror genre will really enjoy.'

After Dark's vice president of acquisitions Dana Lambert brokered the deal with Cinetic Media on behalf of the film-makers and Gaumont's Loic Trocme and Cecile Gaget.
