AFI, Levi's launch Show Us The Way shorts contest
The competition calls filmmakers to submit treatments that are five minutes long on the subject of a better tomorrow.
The initiative between AFI Fest, AFI Conservatory and Levi’s was announced at the AFI Alumni Reception at Sundance on Monday (23).
Six winners will be selected in May and will receive a grant of $5,000 to produce their short, as well as $500 for a Levi’s wardrobe for their cast and ten hours of mentorship from a AFI Conservatory alumnus.
“AFI Fest has always supported the work of emerging filmmakers,” AFI Fest director Jacqueline Lyanga said. “We are pleased to join with Levi’s to provide participating filmmakers with the opportunity to showcase their short films at AFI Fest 2012 presented by Audi and bring their voices to the dialogue, driving positive change in the world through their art.”
