Industry marketing executive Brian Fox' BD Fox Independent has launched a self-distribution division to provide a one-stop shop for film-makers.

The company most recently handled distribution, marketing and publicity responsibilities on the theatrical release of Hope And Redemption: The Lena Baker Story, which opened last weekend in Atlanta and grossed $18,850 from one theatre.

BD Fox Independent's distribution model allows film-makers direct access to theatrical, DVD, cable, network TV, and ancillary markets as well as access to the services of distribution professionals.

The company can handle all theatre bookings, collections, creative, publicity, media buying, internet and promotional events for any independent film. P&A funds are supplied by the film-maker or investors and for each film Fox creates a unique team of entertainment professionals for the duration of the project.

'As opportunities for film-makers to find traditional means of distribution have continued to erode, there is a void in the marketplace that B D Fox Independent is filling,' Fox said.

'There are audiences for these films; they just need creative, focused marketing and a smart distribution plan in order to reach them. With box office at an all time high and the reduction of major studio production, the opportunity for an independent film to be successful is better than ever.'

Prior to launching B D Fox Independent, Fox was the CEO of marketing company BD Fox & Friends, which he founded in 1977.
