CBS Films has purchased the speculative script Permission from Karen McCullah Lutz, whose credits include Legally Blonde and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Jaret Entertainment's Seth Jaret will Lutz will produce and Maria Faillace will oversee the comedy about marriage for CBS Films.

CBS Films was established in 2007 and plans to develop, produce and ultimately distribute four to six films a year across all genres budgeted at up to $50m each.

Lutz is represented by Paradigm and Jaret Entertainment and she is also producing Long Time Gone, an adaptation of April Steven's novel Angel, Angel about an enigmatic young woman who helps a family in crisis.

GreeneStreet Films International holds international rights to Long Time Gone, which stars Christina Ricci, Anjelica Huston, Josh Lucas and Justin Bartha.
