Christine Brand has been promoted to managing director of MGM Networks (Deutschland) GmbH.

Based in Munich, Brand will oversee the day-to-day affairs of the channel operation in Germany and German-speaking markets in Europe, including all programming, marketing, sales and technical operations.

Brand takes over from Marcus Ammon, who held the post for six years and will now work with the channel’s top client Sky Germany.

“I have worked with Christine for many years and she has developed and grown into a talented and incredibly skillful programmer and manager,” said Bruce Tuchman, President, MGM Networks. “Given her dedication, knowledge of the brand, our library and her great loyalty to our businesses around across the globe, it gives me great pleasure to name her to this top position as she will lead us in our future expansion in this key market. I also want to give my thanks to Marcus for all he has done to take our channel to great heights. We all look forward to working closely with him in the future.”

Brand joined the company in 2003, most recently serving as Director of Programming and On Air Promotion for the MGM Channel in Germany. She is also a veteran of Nickelodeon International and Fox Kids Germany.

Prior to this, Brand served as Director of Programs at Fox Kids Germany. A veteran international channels executive, Brand got her start in the business at Nickelodeon International and held several positions for Nickelodeon Global Networks Ventures in London, Düsseldorf, Germany, and Singapore.
