Fledgeling US distributor D-Street Releasing has partnered with Volkswagen AG to support the marketing of the upcoming domestic release of Andreas Dresen's Summer In Berlin.

The deal is part of an ongoing collaboration between D-Street and Volkswagen to promote and celebrate international film in the US market. The German film opens in New York on March 30 and will hit other cities around the US in April and throughout the summer.

'This partnership will allow us to reach the same sophisticated, upscale urban consumers that enjoy smart, thoughtful and provocative international films,' said Dirk Grosse-Leege, head of corporate communications at Volkswagen.

D-Street, which is headqurtered in Berlin under CEO Dexter Davis but which has offices in New York and Los Angeles, will next release Spanish thriller The Uninvited Guest.
