Intandem Films will be tempting buyers with $18m (€13.3m) World War II action thriller, The Good War. The UK film finance and international sales company has worldwide sales rights.

Ed Speleers and Alfred Molina star in the film, which is about a British Major leading a platoon of ill-equipped troops. They attempt to defend Malta against Hitler’s airforce, but hostile islanders and a dangerous love-triangle threaten to destroy his hopes of military success.

The screenplay was written by Jean-Pierre Magro, James W. Mitchell, Valentine Stockdale, Mark Thomas and Matthew Hobbs.

Hobbs, founder of Firefly Films and executive producer for Boogie Woogie will produce the $18m picture. Guido Chiesa (Lavorare Con Lentezza and Johnny The Partisan) is on board to direct.

Principal photography is due to start later this summer.
