French TV journalist Paris Elisabeth Quin will serve as president of the jury.

Elisabeth Quin, the French cinema journalist on TV channel Paris Premiere, has been named president of the jury for the second annual Queer Palm at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

The Queer Palm was established last year to bring together journalists and festival programmers to reward a film in one of the sections for its artistic qualities and treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender issues. Gregg Araki’s Kaboom won the first Queer Palm in 2010.

Quin is joined on the jury this year by journalists Marie Colmant of Canal+ (France), Gerard Lefort of Liberation (France), Thomas Abeltshauser who writes for Manner, Wing, Vanity Fair and Die Welt (Germany) and Roberto Schinardo who writes for Pride, Gay.it and Il Manifesto (Italy).

Fred Arends who is head of Festival Pink Screens in Brussels and Esther Cuenot who runs Festival Cinemarges in Bordeaux round out the jury.
