Harvey Weinstein showcased 20 minutes of footage to international press on Monday (21) of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master and David O Russell’s The Silver Linings Playbook.

“These are some of the best films we have ever been associated with, if not the best,” Weinstein told assembled press corps at the Salon Diane in the Majestic Hotel.

Tarantino is shooting Django and Weinstein said there might still be surprise additions to the cast, which already includes Jamie Foxx, Christophe Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kerry Washington.

Sony Pictures Releasing International will distribute the film outside North America and Weinstein praised his global partnership with the studio. The Weinsteins hold worldwide rights to both The Master and The Silver Linings Playbook.

The Master footage did little to reveal what direction the story will take. It is understood to be based on the life of Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.

The Silver Linings Playbook stars Bradley Cooper as a former teacher who comes out of a mental home and tries to hook up with his ex-wife. Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro also star.
