Pyramide Films’ Blue Beard (Barbe Bleu) by veteran French film-maker Catherine Breillat won the best film award at the 22nd Panorama of European Cinema Festival, which closed on November 1.

Vladimir Paskaljevic, son of Serbian film-maker Goran, won the Fipreci award for this debut film, Devil’s Town, while Margarita Manda’s Hrysoskoni (Gold Dust), received the audience award.

Italian star Valeria Golino was awarded a special mention for her part in Giuseppe Piccioni’s Giulia Doesn’t Date at Night (Giulia Non Esce La Sera).

The closing film following the awards gala was Francis Ford Coppola’s Tetro. The director was at the festival to receive a lifetime achievement awards. A second career award went to veteran Greek film-maker, Theo Angelopoulos.
