HBO Films and The Film Society of Lincoln Center are holding a nationwide competition offering students the chance to create a trailer to precede film screenings at the Lincoln Center.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will premiere the winning work in the Student Trailer Competition at its 45th New York Film Festival, which is set to run from Sep 28-Oct 14.

The winning trailer will be shown before every Film Society screening for the next two years, and will screen at the Film Socity's major annual festivals, programmes and events.

The winner will receive a $5,000 cheque and a trip to New York for the trailer's premiere, as well as a line credit at the end of the trailer. HBO Films producers will professionally finish the trailer.

Mira Nair and Picturehouse president Bob Berney will judge the entries along with author Nelson George, HBO Films vice president of programming Sam Martin, Film Society of Lincoln Center's managing director of festivals and associate director of programming Marian Masone, and creative director Steve Perania.

All entries must be received by May 31. For more details visit www.filmlinc.com.
