The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presented $1.2m in grants to 29 film schools and non-profit organisations at its annual Installation Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Tuesday [11].

The luncheon was held to honour the group’s 2009-10 slate of officers. HFPA president Philip Berk introduced vice-president Hans J Spurkel, executive secretary Meher Tatna, treasurer Jack Tewksbury, board chairman Jorge Camara, and board members Ali Sar, Ruben Nepales, Theo Kingma, Armando Gallo and Frances Schoenberger.

Rose McGowan joined Berk to announce grant recipients, who include The Film Foundation, Lollipop Theatre Network, Outfest, Inner-City Arts, Coalition Of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, National Association Of Latino Independent Producers, Film Independent, and CSU Northridge.

Berk said that over the past 15 years the HFPA had presented more than $10.5m in grants to dozens of film schools and non-profits.
