Jim Orr has been promoted to executive vice president, general sales manager, domestic theatrical distribution, at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM).
Orr joined MGM in Feb 2006 as senior vice president, head of domestic theatrical distribution operations.
In his new position, Orr takes on responsibility for supervising distribution of all MGM's theatrical films in North America, including the studio's domestic sales planning and execution. He continues to be based at the studio's Century City headquarters.
Orr, who will report to Clark Woods, president of domestic theatrical distribution at MGM, started his career in entertainment at Paramount Pictures where he stayed for 17 years, eventually holding the post of senior vice president, domestic theatrical distribution.
