Jonathan King has left Focus Features as executive vice president of production and joined Participant Productions as executive vice president in charge of production. King commences work on Apr 16 and will report to Participant president Ricky Strauss.

Prior to Focus he served as president of production for Laurence Mark Productions, working on such titles as Dreamgirls, current release The Lookout, and Finding Forrester. Before that he was a production and acquisitions executive for several years at Miramax Films in Los Angeles.

King served for six years on the board of directors of Outfest, and currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Board of the Florida State University Film School.

'Jonathan brings to Participant rich experience in both studio and independent film-making,' Strauss said. 'He shares our commitment to making compelling entertainment, and having worked with him successfully over the years, I know he will prove to be a valuable asset to the company.'
