Former Myriad Pictures marketing and publicity executive Maxine Leonard has joined Initial Entertainment Group (IEG) as senior vice president of marketing and publicity, effective immediately.

Leonard will oversee IEG's corporate communication strategy and reports directly to company president Graham King.

She will also work closely with the worldwide marketing and publicity teams on projects produced by King under IEG's studio production deal with Warner Bros, which has spawned the current awards season contenders The Departed and Blood Diamond.

Leonard will coordinate the international marketing and publicity campaigns for all other titles produced and acquired by Initial. Upcoming titles include two films starring Nicolas Cage - Bangkok Dangerous directed by Danny and Oxide Pang and Next directed by Lee Tamahori.

'Maxine brings her incredible talent and enthusiasm to the company at a particularly exciting time,' King said.

Leonard served the last four years overseeing marketing and publicity operations at Myriad, where her credits included Kinsey, Little Fish, and the upcoming Factory Girl.

Prior to Myriad she spent seven years as senior vice president at Los Angeles-based international publicity outfit Denmead Marketing.
