Chris Smith's The Pool was named best narrative feature and Christy
Garland and Susan Armstrong's Doormat took documentary honours as the
2008 fifth annual South Asian Film Festival (SAIFF) came to a close on
October 25.

Dipti Gogna's Narmeen won best short film prize as nearly 200 attendees packed the gala ceremony event at BLVD in New York City. The Audience Choice Award for best narrative feature was awarded to Jaffar Mahmood's Shades Of Ray, while documentary prize went to Joshua Weinstein's Flying On One Engine and Sofian Khan too short film accolades for Small Voices.

In other juried awards, Bioscope won for cinematography, Little Box Of Sweets was honoured in the music category and also took the emerging talent recognition for director Meneka Das.
