Fox International Channels will make Abu Dhabi the centre of its Middle East operations through a partnership with media agency twofour54

Fox International Channels (FIC), a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation, has gone into partnership with Abu Dhabi government media agency twofour54, as part of plans to strengthen its presence in the region.

Under the partnership, FIC will make Abu Dhabi the headquarters of its existing and new operations in the Middle East.

FIC’s documentary film-making division NHNX will establish a production office in Abu Dhabi where it will manage Middle East specific productions, with an emphasis on building up 3D production capabilities and expertise.

In addition, some of Fox’s satellite channels targeted at the Middle East will move playout and operations from Hong Kong and other locations to a broadcasting facility in Abu Dhabi run by twofour54.

The announcement was made on the eve of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Media Summit, as the city continues to establish itself as a cultural centre for the Middle East and Fox continues to strengthen its position in the Middle East.

It follows a series of collaborations between twofour54 and international media firms.
