Media 8 picks up My Last Five Girlfriends

The film will have its European premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this week, and it has been nominated for the Michael Powell award for best new British Feature Film.

Based on the internationally best selling Alain De Botton novel, Essays in Love (US title On Love), My Last Five Girlfriends is written and directed by Julian Kemp and tells the story of a lovelorn man, who recounts his last five relationships.

The film, which was shot on location in London, Paris and Spain, is the first film from the producing partnership Marion Pilowsky and David Willing. It was originally developed by Michael Kelk at Wire Films. 

It had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Stewart Hall, President of Media 8 Entertainment, said: “We moved fast to acquire this film after the wonderful reception it received at Tribeca.  We feel that this film has great international potential.”
