The late actor, who visited Stockholm in 1991, will be honoured with a party during the November festival.

The 21st Stockholm International Film Festival will be dedicated to Dennis Hopper. The festival said it will host a party in his honour during its November event (November 17-28).

“An icon has left us. Dennis Hopper made an indelible impact as an actor, director and as a human being. The best way to tribute him is to throw a party in his honour,” said festival director Git Scheynius.

Hopper visited the second Stockholm Film Festival in 1991 when he received the fest’s lifetime achievement award. He presented every screening of the retrospective that year and attended the now-legendary Hopper Night, taking audience members to breakfast afterwards.
