Documentary festival reveals 2014 dates, which will see it extended to six days.

Sheffield Doc/Fest has announced it will run its 21st edition from June 7-12, 2014.

This lengthens its run from fix days to six and shifts the opening from its traditional mid-week slot to a Saturday.

It will also move its Crossover Market, which launched at this year’s festival to cover digital and interactive projects.

The inaugural Crossover Market took place a day before the launch of Doc/Fest 2013. The second edition has been moved to the opening day of the festival (June 7) and will be followed by the opening night events.

The Crossover Summit, TEDx talk and Doc/Campus International sessions will take place the following day (June 8).

The film programme, which will take place in venues throughout Sheffield as well as a number of special screenings in the nearby Peak District, will run throughout the festival and will culminate at the Sheffield Doc/Fest Awards Ceremony on June 12.

Heather Croall, Doc/Fest CEO and director said: “We’ve outgrown five days. By adding an additional day delegates can get the most out of the programming, particularly interactive at the Crossover Summit and TEDx talk”.
