Shorts International and Magnolia Pictures joined forces with iTunes to make Oscar-nominated short films available for the public to stream just days prior to the Academy Awards ceremony.

The seven independently produced nominated shorts included five live action and two animated shorts. Available to view for free via iTunes were the following live action films: Javier Fesser's Binta And The Great Idea; Eramos Pocos (One Too Many); Soren Pilmark's Helmer & Son; Peter Templeman's The Saviour and the eventual Best Live Action Short Film Oscar winner, Ari Sandel's West Bank Story. The two animated shorts were Geza M Toth's Maestro and the eventual Best Animated Short Film Oscar winner, Torill Kove's The Danish Poet.
