THINKFilm has bought US rights to Stuart Townsend's directorial debut Battle In Seattle in a deal believed to be just over $2m.

Graham Taylor of Endeavor Independent closed the sale with THINKFilm'sacquisitions executives late on Thursday [Sept 13] after sustainedinterest from at least four buyers.

The ensemble drama received its world premiere at the weekend andcentres on events surrounding the protests at the 1999 World TradeOrganization summit in Seattle.

The high-profile cast includes Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, RayLiotta, Michelle Rodriguez, Andre Benjamin, Connie Nielsen, andChanning Tatum.

Producer Kirk Shaw's Insight and producer Maxime Remillard's Remstarhold Canadian rights. Hyde Park International is selling internationalrights.

Endeavor Independent has also reported strong interest in the Toronto screeners Bill and Joy Division, and is handling sales on The Passage and Running The Sahara.
