THINKFilm has acquired North American rights to Azazel Jacobs' drama Momma's Man, which premiered at Sundance in January.

The film reunites THINKFilm with Half Nelson producers Alex Orlovsky and Hunter Gray and executive producer Paul Mezey and will get its New York premiere at the Museum of Modern Art on Mar 28 as part of the New Directors/New Films series. THINKFilm plans a series of exclusive engagements later in the year.

Matt Boren stars as a conflicted young man who moves back in with his parents in New York at the end of a business trip rather than return to his wife and child in California.

'Momma's Man is a wise, witty, and beautifully executed film that speaks to both the adult and the child in all of us,' THINKFilm's theatrical division head Mark Urman said.

Urman, THINKFilm's executive vice president of acquisitions & business affairs Randy Manis and vice president of acquisitions Ben Stambler brokered the deal with Cinetic Media.
