TLA Releasing has named Derek Curl as head of production and development in association with Curl's New York-based company Caveat Films.
The North American and UK-based distributor will produce six original gay films for 2009 across all genres. TLA Releasing and Caveat Films will also produce two gay short film compilations scheduled for release in late 2009.
'TLA Releasing's mission to continue developing original productions is a natural evolution of the company,' Raymond Murray, president of TLA Releasing, said. 'Both TLA and Caveat Films are looking to bring film-maker's stories to life and present them in various forms of entertainment, from theatrical to home video to original online content.'
Upcoming projects include director Spencer Schilly's fourth film and dark comedy My Pet Hustler and Morgan John Fox' gay rehabilitation camp documentary Love In Action.
