Vertigo Films and E1 Entertainment has extended their home entertainment partnership. The first title to be released under the renewed deal will be Louie Psihoyos’ The Cove.

The documentary, which won the Sundance Audience Award, follows dolphin trainer Ric O’Barry, who on a mission to stop dolphins being held in captivity uncovers a dark secret. It will be released on January 4.

The Vertigo/E1 partnership will also release German-Turkish action drama, Chiko, on DVD from April 19. The film, which was out in theatres at the start of the year, tells the story of Chiko and his friend, Tibet, who think money, power and respect is all that counts until they cross a local drugs baron.

Meanwhile, E1 will release London comedy satire Boogie Woogie next year. Based on the novel of the same name it is set against the city’s contemporary art scene, where lust, ambition and power prevail.

The partnership between Vertigo and E1 has previously released titles such as horror classic The Children, breakthrough hit Bronson and The Escapist.
