The World Cinema Foundation and the Ingmar Bergman Foundation are supporting a joint project to preserve, restore and reveal rare behind-the-scenes footage from Bergman's archive.

Martin Scorsese's WCF will fund the restoration, editing, and commentary of more than 14 hours of behind-the-scenes footage for a total of 18 Ingmar Bergman titles. In addition to footage of his work, there are also scenes of his private life.

The titles include Sawdust And Tinsel, The Seventh Seal, Persona, Cries and Whispers and After The Rehearsal.

The WCF on Tues night in Cannes unveiled never-before-seen footage of Bergman working on the set of Sawdust And Tinsel. The six-minute footage screened ahead of Cannes Classics/WCF presentation of Turkish classic Susuz Yaz.
