The actor will collect the honour at the 2011 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards on Nov 30 in Beverly Hills.
Stiller will next be seen opposite Eddy Murphy in Universal’s comedy Tower Heist set to open on Nov 4.
He joins the previously announced Helena Bonham Carter who will receive the Britannia Award For British Artist Of The Year. John Lasseter will collect the Britannia Award For Worldwide Contribution To Filmed Entertainment and Harry Potter director David Yates will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award For Excellence In Directing.
Previous recipients of Britannia Awards include Colin Firth, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg and Kate Winslet, who made the news today  when she pulled Richard Branson’s 90-year-old mother to safety after a lightning storm set fire to the entrepreneur’s Caribbean home.
“Ben Stiller is a master of comedy who, just like the legendary filmmaker for whom this award is named, embodies the remarkable multi-hyphenate talents of actor, writer, director and producer,” BAFTA LA chairman Nigel Lythgoe said.
The recipient of the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film will be announced shortly.
