Actor James Nesbitt hosted the event for the sixth time.
The King's Speech producers Gareth Unwin (left) and Iain Canning won the Best British Independent Film award.
Colin Firth won the Best Actor award for his performance in The King's Speech; Carey Mulligan took the Best Actress prize for Never Let Me Go.
Monsters scored three awards, including Best Director for Gareth Edwards.
The King's Speech director Tom Hooper (centre) collected Geoffrey Rush's Best Supporting Actor award from actresses Felicity Jones (left) and Jessica Brown-Findlay (right). Rush is currently performing in Australia. The King's Speech was the night's big winner scooping five awards, including Best Film.
Helena Bonham Carter (centre) was presented with The Richard Harris Award for acting achievement from Harris's granddaughter Ella Harris (left) and producer Duncan Kenworthy (right).
In Our Name actress Joanne Froggatt (centre) was presented with the Most Promising Newcomer award from Four Lions actors Kayvan Novak (left) and Riz Ahmed (right).
Actor Liam Neeson (left) was presented with a lifetime achievement award by Ralph Fiennes.
Jenne Casarotto (centre) was presented with the Special Jury Prize by producers Finola Dwyer (left) and Jeremy Thomas (right).
Son of Babylon producer Isabelle Stead and BIFA founder Elliot Grove. Son of Babylon collected the Raindance Award.
