Arts Alliance Media founder and CEO Thomas Hoegh has been appointed to the board of the UK Film Council.

He joins the board immediately for four years.

Hoegh also sits on the boards of LoveFilm, City Screen, Inlive Interactive, the Metropolitan Film School and Slingshot Studios. He also produces and directs large-sale outdoor multimedia performances.

Arts Alliance Media is Europe's top provider of digital film distribution services and works with the UK Film Council on the Digital Screen Network.

Stewart Till, UK Film Council chairman said: 'Anyone who has met Thomas will know that he will bring to the Board incredible intelligence about, and insights into, the film industry's future.'
