Top brass at the Bahamas International Film Festival have chosen Alan Arkin to receive the career achievement award.

Arkin, whose credits include Little Miss Sunshine, The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter, Catch-22 and Edward Scissorhands, will collect the honour from his Sunshine co-star Abigail Breslin on December 4.

The festival runs from December 1-5.
