Jennifer Stone and Jacob Zachar to star.

Andy Morahan, who most recently directed JLS 3D concert documentary Eyes Wide Open, has signed on to direct the film version of BBC TV series Cavegirl.

Jennifer Stone (Mean Girls 2, The Wizards Of Waverly Place) will star as Cavegirl, alongside Jacob Zachar (TV’s Greek).

TV series creator Daniel Peacock has written the feature screenplay.

Morahan said: “Cavegirl is a hugely exciting project. I love the nature of the modern dialogue set in a timeless stone-age world.”

Andy Bell, who is producing with Tim Woolford, added: “I have admired Andy’s work for 20 years; he is the perfect director for this project, not least because he remains completely plugged into the music scene and will create a look and feel that our teen audience wants from Cavegirl on the big screen.”

Cavegirl will go into production in South Africa later this year and Michael Auret of of Spier Films S.A. will co-produce.

The film had development funding from the UK Film Council.

Morahan is also a veteran of commercials and music videos.
