BrianLevant's poorly reviewed romantic comedy starring Ice Cube And Nia Longaveraged $6,829 on 2,709 screens and knocked Paramount's drama Coach Carter into second place on$11m for $43.2m after two weekends.

FocusFeatures' genre label Rogue Pictures opened Assault On Precinct 13 in sixth place on $7m.

Jean-FrancoisRichet's remake of John Carpenter's 1976 thriller has grossed $8.6m sinceopening last Wednesday and rode into town on the back of strong write-ups.

Itstars Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne and averaged $3,056 on 2,297 screens.

Universal'sMeet The Fockersslipped one place to third and became the second biggest live-action comedy ofall time after raising its running total to $247.7m after five weekends. Thechampion remains 1990's Home Alone on $285.5m.

Universal'sIn Good Companystayed in fourth on $8.5m for $28m, while Twentieth Century Fox's Elektra continued itslacklustre theatrical run as it slipped five places to tenth in its secondweekend on $3.8m for $20.2m.

Nextweekend's wide releases include Lions Gate's video game horror adaptation AloneIn The Darkstarring Christian Slater and Tara Reid; and Twentieth Century Fox's thriller HideAnd Seek,which stars Robert De Niro and Famke Janssen.

Thereare also planned expansions for Lions Gate's A Love Song For Bobby Long starring John Travoltaand Scarlet Johansson, and Warner Bros' Million Dollar Baby, which stars HilarySwank, Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood.
