The Cannes Competition title, written and directed by Sergei Loznitsa, is a parable about contemporary life in Russia.

French distributor ARP has acquired Competition title My Joy from Fortissimo.

The film, written and directed by Sergei Loznitsa,is a parable about contemporary life in Russia. Olga Shuvalova, Viktor Nemets and Vladimir Ivanov star, and they will all be in Cannes to present the film at its Official In Competition screening on May 19.

The deal was brokered by ARP’s Michèle and Laurent Pétin and Fortissimo’s Executive Vice President, Sales and Acquisitions Nicole Mackey.

Fortissimo is handling worldwide sales on My Joy outside Germany and the CIS.
