David Bishop has been named president of worldwide brandintegration strategy for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), effectiveimmediately.

He comes to Sony from MGM where he spent 15 years, most recentlyas president and chief operating officer of MGM Home Entertainment Group.

In his new post Bishop, who will be located at SPE'sheadquarters in Culver City, will oversee the integration of MGM assets acrossSPE's worldwide hierarchy, including the worldwide home entertainment,international theatrical and international television distribution divisions.

Additionally, Bishop will work with SPE senior management acrossthe company's various divisions to target and help coordinate theimplementation of new business opportunities.

"David Bishop is a highly respected entertainment executive withstrong and innovative management experience in various areas of ourbusiness," SPE vice chairman Jeff Blake, to whom Bishop will report, said ina statement.

"He joins SPE as it enters an exciting new era characterised bytechnologies which have provided revolutionary new distribution streams for ourproducts worldwide."
