Bold Films, the LA-based production company behind Bobby, is teaming with visual effects outfit The Orphanage to produce Legion, a supernatural action thriller about a group of strangers stranded in a desert truck stop that bands together to stop an army of demonic creatures bent on fulfilling an age-old prophecy that would unleash hell on earth.

Bold is also financing the film which Velvet Octopus is selling here. 'We see this as a high-octane franchise like Underworld with the look of graphic novel adaptations such as Sin City,' said Velvet Octopus chief Simon Crowe.

Production stars this autumn on the Legion which will mark the directorial debut of Scott Stewart, the co-founder of The Orphanage which has worked on the effects of movies like Live Free And Die Hard, Superman Returns, Sin City and the Pirates Of The Caribbean sequels.

Stewart also wrote the film with Peter Schink, while Bold's Michael Litvak and David Lancaster are producing. Bold's Gary Michael Walters is executive producer.

Stewart is represented by CAA; Miles Mogulescu is the attorney for Bold.
