Recently-launched tax financier UKFS and sales agent AV Pictures have boarded Cabbages & Queens, a comedy drama set in the London theatre world starring Keri Russell (pictured), Nathan Lane, Darren Boyd, Emilia Fox, Greg Wise, Simon Callow, Joss Ackland and Brian Blessed.
Principal photography is scheduled to start June 30th in and around London with producing duties shared between Gordon Anderson, David Kraftman and Adrian Rigelsford of London production outfit Banana Skin Productions. John Henderson is to direct from a script by Rigelsford and Kim Lamont.
Brighton-based UKFS, which accesses UK tax breaks through Sections 48 and 42 along with overseas subsidies through a network of partners, is the main UK financier, with additional investment coming from private equity sources. Vic Bateman will oversee worldwide sales at AV Pictures.
The comedy is billed as a "backstage romp through the London theatre world with a jewel heist thrown in for good measure."
