Celluloid Dreams has announced the sale of Takashi Miike's western Sukiyaki Western Django in North American and German speaking territories.

The North American deal was signed with Gary Hirsch of First Look Studios and brokered by Celluloid president Hengameh Panahi.

Walter Rehm's Universum picked up the German speaking territory rights. The initial acquistion was brokered between Christina Iso of Pacifica International and Celluloid Dreams.

Buyers swung into action after a new, re-edited international version of the film became available, 25 minutes shorter than the cut which premiered at this year's Venice and Toronto film festivals. The film features Quentin Tarantino and an all star Japanese cast paying homage to the spaghetti western.

The film is produced by T. Nakazawa of Sedic International; Geneon Entertainment; Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan); Dentsu; TV Asahi; Shogakukan; A Team; Nagoya Broadcasting Network and Tokyu Recreation.
