The West Coast premieres of Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler and Steven Soderbergh's Che have been selected as the AFI FEST 2008's centrepiece screenings.

Soderbergh's Che Guevara films starring Benicio Del Toro premiered at Cannes and will screen on November 1 while The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke will screen on November 6 following its Golden Lion triumph in Venice and sold-out screenings at Toronto.

Che and The Wrestler will screen at the New York Film Festival on October 7 and 12, respectively.

AFI FEST has added four special screenings to the schedule and they are: Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom with Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz; Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Sugar; Joon-ho Bong, Leos Carax and Michel Gondry's triptych Tokyo!; and James Gray's Two Lovers starring Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw.

AFI FEST 2008 is scheduled to run from October 30-November 9.
