Ying Liang's Chinese picture Taking Father Home won the Skyy prize for first narrativefeature at the 49th San Francisco International Film Festival Golden GateAwards ceremony.

The Golden Gate Award for documentary feature went to MichaelGlawogger's Workingman's Death (Austria), and the Golden Gate Award for Bay Area documentaryfeature went to Stanley Nelson's Jonestown: The Life And Death Of PeoplesTemple.

Olivo Barbieri won Golden Gate New Visions honours for sitespecific_LAS VEGAS 05,and Ryan Fleck's Half Nelson was awarded the Fipresci Prize.

Natalija Vekic's Lost & Found collected the Golden Gate Award for BayArea non-documentary short, Sam Green's lot 63 grave c took the Golden Gate documentary shortaward, and Karina Epperlein collected the Golden Gate Bay Area documentaryshort for Phoenix Dance.

The narrative short Golden Gate Award went to Love At 4 pm by Sebastian Alfie, and the animatedshort prized was awarded to Canada's Bruce Alcock for At The Quinte Hotel.

The 49th SFIFF ran from Apr 20-May 4. The festival opened withPeter Chan's China-set musical Perhaps Love and closed with Robert Altman's APrairie Home Companion.
