The Dark Knight director, producer and co-writer Christopher Nolan will receive the American Society Of Cinematographers' Board Of Governors Award during the 23rd Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards celebration in Los Angeles on February 15.

Nolan's credits include Batman Begins, Memento, The Prestige and Insomnia.

'Chris Nolan is infused with talent with which he masterfully uses to collaboratively create memorable motion pictures,' American Society Of Cinematographers president Daryn Okada said. 'His quest for superlative images to tell stories has earned the admiration of our members.'

Previous recipients include Gregory Peck, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert Wise, Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Altman, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.
