Cineclick Asia has closed a flurry of deals headed by the sale of Kim Jee-woon's Oriental Western The Good, The Bad, and The Weird to ARP for French-speaking territories.

After screening footage of the $11 million film, ARP pacted with Cineclick for a high-six-figure deal - relatively high for an Asian film in France.

Three top Korean stars - Song Kang-ho (The Host), Lee Byung-hun (A Bittersweet Life), Jung Woo-sung (A Moment to Remember, Musa) - headline the homage to Sergio Leone's The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, set on the outlaw Mongolian plains.

The film started production in early April, scheduled for delivery for spring 2008.

Kim Ki-duk's Competition title Breath sold immediately to Argentina (Distribution Co), Turkey (BIR), Poland (SPI), Singapore (Festive Films) for Singapore, and Baltic states (Lietuvos Kinas). Most other major territories, including France to ARP, were pre-sold.

Golden Globe winning Afghani director Siddiq Barmak's Opium War has also pre-sold to Australasia (Aztec), Spain (Alta), Israel (Shani), Greece (ArtFree), Ex-CIS territories (Maywin), and Mexico (Film House). Japan's Happinet Pictures has invested in the film, taking Japanese rights.
