Cinetic Rights Management (CRM) has launched an online distribution venture with Amazon Video On Demand and CreateSpace DVD On Demand.

Select titles will be made available to consumers exclusively as CRM and Amazon Video On Demand will curate a slate of approximately 20 films each month.

The venture launched on November 13 with an Amazon exclusive of writer-director Dave McLaughlin's 2007 drama On Broadway starring Joey McIntyre and Eliza Dushku. Prices start at $2.99 for a seven-day rental and $9.99 for purchase.

Among the other films being released on Amazon Video on Demand in November are Juan Cardarelli and Benjamin Davidow's comedy Happy Birthday, Harris Malden, Rob Epstein's 1984 documentary The Times Of Harvey Milk and Vern Oakley's 1995 romantic comedy A Modern Affair with Stanley Tucci.

'We're so excited about our partnership with Amazon Video On Demand,' CRM's Matt Dentler said. 'Audiences are no longer required to live in a specific city to see new and classic independent film. All they need now is an Internet connection.'

'Amazon customers love independent films,' Amazon.com's director, digital video Roy Price said. 'With Cinetic, we're able to deliver them unique, exclusive and compelling movies that are not available anywhere else.'
