UK Cinema chain Cineworld is to open a new multi screen cinema next to Wembley Stadium in 2013.

The nine screen cinema will seat 1800 people and will form part of the 280,000 sq ft leisure and retail hub Wembley City.

Construction is expected to begin in 2011, with the cinema due to open in 2013. Cineworld signed an agreement with property group Quintain for the lease of the cinema, which will run for 25 years.

Steve Wiener, chief executive officer of Cineworld, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Quintain to be the cinema operator for Wembley City.  Wembley is a vibrant development and the Cineworld cinema will be the first in the area for thirty years.”
