Paris-based Chic Films has added Mackenzie Crook to the cast of its Kristin Scott Thomas romantic comedy Third World People.

Antoine Desrosieres will direct the English-language French, South African and German co-production, about Europeans' views on third-world people.

Other projects on Chic's line -up include the currently-shooting Black starring French rap artist MC Jean Gab'1 and Carole Karemera and Mika Kaurismaki's next feature, a Brazilian road movie written by Central Do Brasil's Marcos Bernstein.

Further, Jacques Audiard's The Prophet, from a script by Abdel Raouf Dafri and Nicolas Peufaillit, will begin shooting in late 2007. The film is a co-production with Why Not Productions.
