Fired by two major international number one openings Universal's IntolerableCruelty grossed anestimated $12.6m through UIP at the weekend from 2,030 sites in 22 countries.

Helping the black comedy on its way to an $18.4m internationalrunning total was a table-topping bow in Australia on $1.7m including previews.It took 23% market share and was in the same range as Maid In Manhattan ($1.8m, March 2003) and About A Boy ($1.6m, August 2002).

It topped the table in Spain on $1.8m, roughly 29% ahead of BridgetJones's Diary (June2001) and 38% ahead of America's Sweethearts (September 2001).

In Germany the film opened second on $1.9m behind the popularlocal title The Miracle Of Bern.

Intolerable Cruelty opened third in the UK on $2.6m (including $388,000 in previews),behind holdovers Finding Nemo and Kill Bill Vol 1.

It finished its first week inItaly at number one on a strong $3.4m, although weekend figures were notavailable at time of writing.

In its second weekend in Brazil it ranked third on $302,000 behindlocal titles Os Norma'sand Maria. The 10-daycumulative total is $1m.

Other highlights includednumber one bows in Austria, where it grossed $375,000 from 72 sites, andHungary, where Thursday's $31,000 from 27 was the distributor's 11th biggestopening day ever in the territory. The weekend estimate is $180,000.

American Pie:The Wedding grossed anestimated $4.1m from 1,700 venues in 34 countries, raising its internationalrunning total to an estimated $106.2m with 16 territories still to open.
