The Spanish-German actor has landed a role in 2016 summer tentpole Captain America: Civil War.
Bruhl joins Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr and Chadwick Boseman on the May 6, 2016 release.
Joe and Anthony Russo return to direct after their smash Captain America: The Winter Soldier opened earlier this year, grossing $714m worldwide.
“With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” said Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige.
Bruhl earned Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA and Critics’ Choice nominations for his role as Niki Lauda in Ron Howard’s Rush.
