Fox International opened its superhero adaptation Daredevil at number one in Jamaica over theweekend, grossing $29,000 from six screens. The picture also opened top of thecharts in the Philippines, taking $743,000 from 143 screens to register Fox'sfifth biggest bow of all time and the industry's second biggest February bow inthe territory.

The distributor opened Gangs Of New York in Austria, grossing $236,000 from 40screens, marking Martin Scorsese's biggest ever bow there. The director alsorecorded his biggest opening of all time in Germany, where the historical dramaopened fourth on $1.7m from 377 screens. In its fifth week in Italy, thepicture added $220,000 for an $8.3m running total. The picture has grossed$10.3m in Fox's territories and $78m overall.

The romantic comedy Just Married opened in first place in Australia overthe weekend, grossing $1.8m from 230 screens. It also topped the charts inEcuador, bowing on $17,000 from seven screens. To date the picture has grossed$7m internationally.

In a series ofEuropean bows, the sci-fi remake Solaris scored $94,000 from 15 screens in Belgium; $21,000 from 13in the Czech Republic; $1m from 151 in France; $34,000 from seven in theFrench-speaking parts of Switzerland; and $90,000 from 31 in Turkey. Theinternational running total is $3.8m.
